William Theodore McCallie was the oldest of nine children born to John Henry & Martha Ann Long McCallie.
Sometime after 1888 the family moved to the chickasaw Nation in Indian Territory near Ardmore, Oklahoma., Where William's Father John taught school for a while and later was one of the guards for the first Federal jail in Ardmore when it was only a stockade, He worked under United States Marshall John S. Hammer and for a while William Theodore and Thaddeus Lincoln McCallie, his sons, were deputies or posseman under Marshall Hammer.
Sometime after 1900 the family moved to the Weleetka, Oklahoma area where William met and married Annie Mae Murray on Mar 04, 1908,
And to this marriage four children were born Wallace Raymond 1909/Lewis Clinton 1911/Athal Woodroe 1912/Ruth Etta 1916., Tragedy struck February 06, 1917 when Annie Mae died and the children were left without a mother.,
