Thaddeus Lincoln McCallie was the third of nine children born to John Henry & Martha Ann McCallie., Thad as he was known to family & friends was born in Carrollton (Carroll County) Arkansas.

Sometime after 1888 the family moved to the chickasaw Nation's in Indian Territory near Ardmore, Oklahoma, Thad's father John taught school for a time and was one of the guards for the first Federal jail in Ardmore when it was only a stockade. He worked under United States Marshall John S. Hammer and for a while Thad & his brother William were deputies or posseman under Marshall Hammer.,

Thad married Essie Robinson in 1897 and they had a daughter named Monta., Essie was born in Texas April 26, 1879.

On January 15,1899 Tragedy struck, Thad's Father John came down with pneumonia and died., They buried him at Bomar Point Cemetery., Thad's mother Martha & two younger brothers John Roy and George Washington moved in with Thad & Essie and Martha drew a widow's pension for herself and the two children under the age of sixteen years.

And then tragedy struck again and this time it was Essie she came down with the fever after giving birth to a baby boy on November 18, 1901, just twelve days later Essie died and on January 01, 1902 the baby also died they buried Essie & the Baby along side John at Bomar Point Cemetery, they all have markers on their graves.

Later Sometime after 1900, several members of the family including Thad & mother Martha - moved to the Weleetka Oklahoma area.

Thad then married Arelia Maud (Lala) Roberts November 22, 1905 and to this marriage two daughters were born Mattie Belle McCallie(1907) & Helen McCallie(1909).


Later Thad moved to Pawhuska, Osage County, Oklahoma, along with his brother Ross who ran a wagon yard there., They later moved back to the Weleetka and Wetumka, Oklahoma area's where they were farmers.
