Ross Denton McCallie was the seventh child of John Henry & Martha Ann Long, McCallie and the Grandson of William T. & Mary Ann Hanks, McCallie. Ross had five brothers, William Theodore/James Charles/Thaddeus Lincoln/John Roy/George Washington, And three sisters, Maud Mitchell/Mary Sue/Alice Annie.
Ross Married Ida Belle Grissom May 05, 1905 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Although they were acquainted when both famlies lived down the road from one another in Hewett (I.T.) Oklahoma,(what is now Carter County). Ida my Grandmother told me she remembered when Ross's father John Henry McCallie died in 1899 the funeral procession pass her house. Both Families moved in and around Okfuskee & Hughes County,Oklahoma after 1900.
Ross & Ida had five children, Ethel Laura/Iva Lee/Mamie Maude/James Clifford/Ross Denton Jr.
Ross & Ida for a brief time lived in Pawhuska,(Osage County) Oklahoma where Ross ran a wagon yard.
Ross died at home 7 miles southeast of Wetumka, Okla, I was there with my grandmother by his bedside when he passed. D.L. Davidson.
