Joseph C. Delcore, age 81, a longtime Wakefield resident, died Thursday, October 19 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. Born in Winthrop on September 23, 1942 he was the son of the late Daniel and Josephine (Merola) Delcore.
Mr. Delcore was raised in Melrose and was a graduate of Melrose High School. He matriculated to Dartmouth College, Class of 1964 and continued on to receive his law degree from Suffolk Law School. While in the midst of his undergraduate studies, he met his future wife, Barbara. When the two married they ultimately settled in Wakefield and raised their family. He was an avid Boston sports fan and loved Salisbury Beach.
He was the beloved husband of the late Barbara M. (Putzel) Delcore and the father of the late Daniel J. Delcore.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Monday, October 23 from 4-7pm. A Graveside Service will be held at Forest Glade Cemetery, Lowell St., Wakefield on Tuesday, October 24 at 10am.
