Wayne L. Bryson, Sr., 69, of Atwood died July 24, 2001 at home. Funeral services were at First Apostolic Church, Arthur with burial in Mackville Cemetery.

Mr. Bryson was born November 23, 1931 in Piatt County, s/o Ralph and Emma Stivers Bryson. He married Ruby Downs. She died October 12, 1970. He then married Jean McHenry Jamison on January 1, 1972 in Atwood. She survives. Also surviving are four sons: James of Urbana; Bob and Russell, both of Atwood; and Wayne Jr. of Ashmore; four daughters: Ruanita Mayhall, Sullivan; Terri Golish, Tolono; Cathy Boozer, Villa Grove; and Laurie Sapp, Ovesdale; a sister, Dorothy Moore, Mt. Dora FL; 17 grandchldren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters, three brothers and a sister.

Mr. Bryson was a retired farmer and truck driver. He was an Air Force veteran. He was a member of First Apostolic Church of Arthur and the Douglas County Farm Bureau. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or the Provena Covenant Hospice Unit.
