Fueneral services for Charles Stephen Batchelder will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home where friends may call after 5 p.m. today. Burial will be in Illini Cemetery, Warrensburg.

Mr. Batchelder, 92, of Warrensburg, a retired farmer and cattle feeder, died at 8:06 a.m. yesterday in his home.

He was born Jan. 11, 1871 in Macon County, a son of Nathan S. and Mary M. Ritchie Batchelder. He had lived near Warrensburg all of his life. He married Mollie Keppler on October 13, 1898 in Warrensburg, IL. She died April 2, 1960.

Mr. Batchelder began feeding cattle and shipping them to market in 1896. He became well known throughout the state in the cattle feeding business. In 1956 he was honored by the Chicago Stockyards for shipping cattle there for 59 years.
He retired from farming and the cattle feeding business last year after 67 years.

Mr. Batchelder leaves two sons, Harold F. and Clifford A., both of Warrensburg; a daughter, Hazel M. Batchelder, of Warrensburg, two half-sisters, Mrs. Mary Watkins, of Warrensburg, and Mrs. Martha Peverly, of Decatur; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
