Grace A. Brunton, 95, of Meridian, ID, died September 20, 2007, at her Meridian home. She was born July 5, 1912, in Bourbon, MO to the late Fred and Rosie (Reiger) Kluge. She came to Wenatchee in 1915, and attended schools at Wenatchee and East Wenatchee, graduating from Wenatchee High School in 1929. She attended what was then Cheney Normal School. She married Frank Brunton in 1930. With the shortage of teachers during World War II, the superintendent of the East Wenatchee School asked her to come and teach there. She later returned to school, obtaining advanced degrees from Eastern Washington University and took classes at the University of Washington. She taught in East Wenatchee, retiring in 1974. Survivors include two children, Lorraine Kile of Wenatchee and Loren Brunton of East Moline, IL; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Graveside Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday afternoon, September 28, 2007, at Evergreen Memorial Park in East Wenatchee, WA. Arrangement are under the care of Jones and Jones ~ Betts Funeral Home.
