Robert Glenn Elmore, 89, of Friendswood, Texas passed away on March 17, 2024


Robert was born on February 26, 1935 in Houston, Texas to Juanita Glen

Elmore and Wesley Robert Elmore. He is survived by his children,

daughter, Deborah Kay Elmore Swift and son, David Glenn Elmore and

wife, Sheila Elmore; grandchildren, Heather Ruth Foley and husband

Jonathan Foley; Erica Frances Smith; Brad Glenn Elmore;

great-grandchildren Kayla Heather Sturdevant, Avery Jean Sturdevant,

and Juliana Brielle Foley; brother Charles Vernon Elmore; and niece,

Cindy Wilson and husband Scott Wilson, Carla DiBerardino, Leslie

Elmore, and nephew Justin Elmore and wife, and the mother of his

children and High School sweetheart Shirley Jean Bevill Curtis.


Robert is preceded in death by his parents; his brother; Carl Douglas

Elmore and his wife, Charlene Fischer.


Robert is a citizen of the Cherokee Nation and maintains family ties

in Locust Grove, Oklahoma. He had a life-long love of cars and

developed an interest in the late 1950's for stock car racing. He

maintained a great deal of success in the 1960's racing at the Houston

tracks of Playland Park and Meyerland Speedway. He loved attending

NASCAR races in all the southern states. Later, designed, and

developed NASCAR race cars for his son David that operated in the

southern states. He was recognized by his peers for being a resource

of design engineering and master mechanic of automobile technology.


Robert operated numerous automotive businesses over a 50-year period

in Houston and Canyon Lake Texas while supporting his family. He

supported them during their development years and was deeply involved

with his daughters FFA activities raising a Shorthorn steer for show

at the Pasadena Rodeo.


Robert was a member of Broadway Baptist Temple in Houston during his

youth and later attended the Cowboy Church in Canyon Lake area.
