Mary Katherine Shadduck, daughter of Lewis and Maletha Parker Heater, was born July 8, 1908, at Esbon, Kansas, and died June 25, 1997, at the Republic County Hospital, Belleville, Kansas, at the age of 88 years, 11 months, and 17 days.
She received an 8th grade education.
She was united in marriage to Millard Shadduck on September 20, 1927, at Belleville, Kansas, and to this union seven children were born. Millard died in 1969. She was later united in marriage to Leslie Shadduck on June 9, 1972.
They have resided in Belleville, Kansas, since June 1972.
She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Millard Shadduck, two brothers and one sister.
She is survived by her husband, Leslie Shadduck, Belleville, Kansas; three sons, Gerald Shadduck of Lexington, Nebraska; Adron Shadduck of Topeka, Kansas; Richard Shadduck of Belleville, Kansas; four daughters, Margaret Duffey of Belleville, Kansas; Lois Lundblade of Bonner Springs, Kansas; Roberta Partridge of Burr Oak, Kansas; Joyce Poppe of Belleville, Kansas; a brother, Charles Heater of Fresno, California; a sister, Anna Briggs, Mankato, Kansas, 22 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren, and three great-great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, 1997, at the Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart-Surber Memorial Chapel, Belleville, Kansas, with Dr. Paul Morris officiating.
Interment was made in Washington Cemetery, Republic, Kansas.
