OWENS, BRASSFIELD B.F. was born February 16, 1884 and departed this life July 10, 1964 at the age of 80 years, 4 months and 24 days. He was the son of JOHN and MARY OWENS. He was united marriage to NETTIE SMITH November 11, 1923. He was a wonderful husband, always good and kind, but after 40 years, 7 months and 29 days God called him from his home here below and told all who were at his bedside when the death angel came "Goodbye" as long as he could talk, and said he would soon be at his heavenly home with Jesus and all his friends and loved ones and just quietly went to sleep, to await the resurrection of all the sleeping dead. He joined the Stanfill Baptist Church October 1, 1934 and baptised by Rev. J. S. GARRETT October 3, 1934 of which he remained a faithful member until death. He always attended his church as long as health permitted. He was a splendid citizen and neighbor and will be missed in his community. Funeral services were conducted at Stanfill Church July 12, 1964 at 2 P.M. with Rev. ALBERT CHITWOOD and Rev. J. S. GARRETT officiating. Burial in Warrens Memorial Gardens. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, NETTIE; one brother, HOUK OWENS of Newcomb, Tennessee; 2 sisters, Mrs. EVA POSEY of Elk Valley, Tennessee and Mrs. LINA POSEY of Oneida, Tennessee and several nieces and nephews and many friends who were grieved at his passing but God loved him too and took him out of his suffering and now he is sweetly resting in glory, of which he talked about so much. He favorite song was "I'll Meet You in the Morning" and I'm sure we will meet him again where there will be no sad parting or heartaches. We feel our loss is heaven's gain. Loving and kind in all his ways upright and just to the end of his days sincere and true in his heart and mind he left many sweet memories behind. Stanfill Church.
