She was born June 11, 1904 in Richfield, Utah, a daughter of Walter and Anna Sophia Boyce Baker and in 1929 she married Benjamin Richard McKinnon, who died in 1986. At the time of her death, Mrs. McKinnon was a member of the 12th Ward, Salt Lake Central Stake. She had been active in the LDS Church throughout her life with numerous assignments including the planning and implementation of the Junior Sunday School Program throughout the Morgan Stake as a church pilot.
She was a graduate of USU with a BS in Education and taught grade school in the Morgan County School District. She was also a dancer and a dance instructor. As a poet, she organized a branch of the Utah Poetry Society in Morgan County. On moving to Salt Lake in 1988, she continued to study and write prize-winning poetry. At the time of her death, she was active in the Salt Lake Chapters of the Utah State Poetry Society, the Second Winds, and the Inklings.
Mrs. McKinnon is survived by a sister, Arthella Jacot, Santa Barbara, California; a daughter, Jane Hanson, Moraga, California; two sons, John, Gilbert, Arizona; Richard, Westminster, Colorado. She has 18 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 12 noon in the Morgan 1st-2nd Ward, corner of State and Young Streets, preceded by a viewing at the church from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. Friends may call also at the Walker Mortuary in Morgan Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment: South Morgan Cemetery.

Margaret married my Granduncle Dr. Benjamin R. McKinnon on 4 Sep 1929. They had three children, Richard D. McKinnon, Jane McKinnon, and John Gordon McKinnon.
Margaret was very sociable, and very well liked in her community. She attended many social events, sometimes with her Dentist husband, but often by herself.
I just found this story (with an accompanying picture), which tells of Margaret Baker McKinnon's love of the gospel, and the love she had for the Sunday School publication, The Juvenile Instructor, even when only 7-years old. It's in the form of a play, written by: Ardis E. Parshall - November 10, 2009, called:
