George Michael was born in Bavaria, Germany the son of Jacob and Mary Schmidt Pfeifer. He and his family came to the United States in 1854. George married Barbara Reising on October 30, 1870, in Peoria, IL. They had two daughters: Louise M. and Mrs. Mary Ann Brady. George relocated to Macon County, IL. He then married Rachel Ann Jones on March 18, 1884 in Taylorville, IL. George and Rachel had four children: Fred Edgar, George Meade, Charles Louis and Lela May (Miller). George died of a heart attack.
