Born in Franklin County, NC, he was the son of the late Roland Carol Ausborn and Lila Watkins Ausborn. He was the husband of the late Miriam Harris "Mickey" Ausborn, who also died on Saturday.
Mr. Ausborn was a retired Vice-President of NationsBank. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a member of Spring Valley United Methodist Church, Henderson Masonic Lodge #229 AF & AM, and the Henderson Shrine Club.
Surviving are a daughter, Beth Seeman, and husband, Barry, and their children, Lila, Margaret, and Isabell, of Darien, Connecticut; a son, David Alton Ausborn, and wife, Ina, and their children, Holden and Ann Auston, of Raleigh, NC; and a sister, Esther A. Thompson, of Kittrell, NC.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Neva A. Ayscue; and five brothers, Bruce Ausborn, Nathan Ausborn, Wilton Ausborn, Ed Ausborn, and Horace Ausborn.
