Eddie Thomas Nicholson

Departed on Sep. 8, 2002 and resided in Mt. Pleasant, TN.

Mr. Eddie Thomas "T" Nicholson, 83, a resident of Highway 166 North in Mt. Pleasant, died Sunday September 8, 2002 at Maury Regional Hospital.

Graveside services for Mr. Nicholson was conducted Tuesday, September 10, 2002 at 11:30 A.M. at Arlington Cemetery with Rev. Nathan Potts officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Mt. Pleasant American Legion Post # 10. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Williams Mt. Pleasant Funeral Home.

The Maury County native was the son of the late Harvey Lee Nicholson and Emma Berry Reed Nicholson Bailey. He was the husband of 63 years to Ruth Finney Nicholson of Mt. Pleasant. He was retired from Occidential Chemical Company and long -time self-employed home builder in the Mt. Pleasant area. He served in the U.S. Marines during World War II, participating in action against the enemy at Okinawa, Ryukya Island and also in Japan from September until December of 1945. He was a member of the Local Union #912 of Operating Engineers and a member of the House of Prayer Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife , he is survived by one daughter Faye (Larry) Ballard of Mt. Pleasant and one son Tommy (Phyllis) Nicholson of Mt. Pleasant.; four granddaughters, Tammy (Randy) Eastep, Pam (Terry) Parham, Valerie (Barry) Mc Daniel, and Vickey Nicholson all of Mt. Pleasant; two grandsons, Stacey (Sue) Roberts and Rodney (Nissa) Nicholson both of Mt. Pleasant; Eleven great grandchildren; two sisters, Christine (C.W.) Ryan and Pearl Ryan both of Nashville. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Reedy Nicholson, Buddy Nicholson, and Herbert Nicholson.

His grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the retired employees of Occidental Chemcial Company, Dr. Thomas Dake, R.L. Potts, and George R. Gilliam.
