Cookeville Press April 27, 1944

Funeral services were conducted on Friday afternoon at Brotherton for Mrs. Fannie Alice Allen Bowman, 53, wife of Isaac Bowman of the 6th district of this county, whose sudden death of a heart ailment occurred on the preceding Wednesday at the family home on Spring Creek. She was the daughter of Lafayette and Sarah Frances Selby Allen.
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev D B Hammons, pastor of the Shady Grove Freewill Baptist church. Burial was in the Brotherton Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband and by 10 sons and 6 daughters. She was the mother of 17 children, all living except one grown son whose death occurred a few years ago. Two sons are in military service.
