102-Years-Old Elaine Brockbank Evans passed away on April 30, 2008 in her daughter's home in Rexburg, Idaho, at the age of 102.
She lived a full and rich life, where art, particularly sculpture, was important. She holds a Masters Degree in Fine Art from the University of Michigan, and her greatest joy was creating beautiful works of art for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, of which she was a member.
Her statue of Adam and Eve is in the North Visitors Center at Temple Square in Salt Lake City.
Her sculptured plaque of Christ and the Children is in the Taylor Building on the campus of BYU-Idaho.
Her plaque of The First Relief Society is in the Relief Society Building in Salt Lake City and ward buildings, including the Berkeley, California Ward, where she lived and served for over fifty years.
Her bust of Emma Smith is in various LDS Church visitors centers, and her plaque of John Brimhall is in the Brimhall building on the campus of BYU-Provo.
Her paintings include Elijah Visiting Joseph Smith and Christ Ministering to the Children in the Americas. She served as a Relief Society President and as a counselor in a Stake Relief Society Presidency.
She was a temple worker in the Oakland Temple for fourteen years and also worked in the Primary and Young Women's organizations.
She is survived by two daughters, Shari (David) Pack and Gayle (Bill) Madsen, and one son, Greg Evans, as well as twenty-one grandchildren and thirty-eight great-grandchildren.
Her Funeral will be held Saturday, May 17, at 2:00 p.m. in the Holladay Stake Center, 4568 South Holladay Boulevard (2100 East) in Holladay, Utah. The Viewing will begin at 1:00 p.m.
She will be buried beside her husband, Jack Varney Evans, in the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
