Mr. Ervin Lee Cook, 55, of Morganton, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at Wallace Thompson Hospital in Union County.


Ervin was born on Feb. 2, 1955, in Burke County, to the late Belo Burgins and Versie Lee Cook Hullett.


He was a member of Walker's Chapel Baptist Church and was employed at Image Industries in Newton, as a textile worker. Ervin enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He loved his family very much and especially loved the Lord.


Survivors include his wife, Debra Carswell Cook of the home; a son, Adam Lee Cook and a daughter, Emily Marie Cook, both of the home; one brother, Gary Cook and his wife, Anita, of Vale; two sisters, Elizabeth Whisnant and her husband, Steve, of Morganton and Gail Hullett of Morganton; his stepfather, Bill Hullett of Morganton; and one stepbrother, Billy Hullett of Spruce Pine.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Michael Hullett.


A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Walker's Chapel Baptist Church with the Revs. Danny McNeilly and Steve Parker officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Walker's Chapel Baptist Church. Heritage Funeral Service & Crematory of Valdese is serving the family.
