Tony Mareshie, 62, born April 30, 1944, in East St. Louis, Ill., died on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006, at Memorial Hospital.
Tony was very active with the Upper Room Church in Belleville, Ill.; the Gothic Lodge 504; past president and former coach at West End Khoury League; former basketball coach at Union Elementary and West Junior High; past member DeMolay A.D. Manners Chapter; and the Boy Scouts Okaw Valley Council.
Tony is preceded in death by his mother, Erma G. Mareshie; grandmother, Augusta Young; parents-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Evitts, and his twin granddaughters, Autumn and Lauren Mareshie.
Surviving is his wife, Mary, née Evitts, Mareshie (m. 1964), a son, Eric (Dr. Christy) Mareshie, of Joplin, Mo.; two daughters, Dana Mareshie, of St. Louis, Mo., and Kara (Mike) Taylor of Belleville, Ill.; his grandchildren, Katelyn Schoumleffel, Madison Taylor, Kylie Mareshie, Eric Anthony Mareshie III, Emily Delgado, Nicolas Delgado.
