Dorothy Belle (Hutchinson) Streich was born near Warrensburg, IL, the daughter of Robert D. and Jane (Taylor) Hutchinson. She married John Franklin Streich on February 1, 1911 in Evansville, IN. They had three children: Robert George Streich, Anna Maud (Streich) Bird and Edith B. (Streich) Kennedy.
Dorothy was a hard working wife and mother. She was always cooking and cleaning for her husband and family. On the farm there was always a few hired men that stayed at the house. In her later years, her health began to fail her and she became very frail. When I was a young boy, we lived next door to them and I remember getting up in the morning and walking to John and Dorothy's house and eating breakfast with her. I was young when she passed away, but I had become very close to her. A little known fact about Dorothy was that she was an excellent piano player. She usually never played in front of people. But when alone, you could hear beautiful music being played on the piano.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters; Kate Eaton and Mary Jane Carder; and her son Robert.
