Source: Book - The Civil Wetters of Albert Demuth and Roster of Eighth Missouri Volunteer Cavalry, USA which gives: Age: 31, Enlisted Sept. 9, 1862 in Polk County, Missouri and was a Farrier. {Shod Horses in service.} Book gives a: Beverly Barbour {presumption as Brother by my thinking} who is Age 37, and enlisted the same day from same County and said he made Rank of 1st Sgt. Also shows Name could have been spelled as: Barber, but is documented as: Barbour. * Also, Noted in Sons of Union Veterans web-site with a few details.

Edward Barbour, a veteran of the civil war, died Monday night at the Soldiers’ Home hospital. He was 35 years of age. During the war he served with company M, Eighth Missouri cavalry. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. M. F. Parker, who arrived from Weiser this afternoon to make arrangements for the funeral.
