Anna Mae Harding died Sunday, May 4, 2008 in Sumter, S.C. She was born in Mercer County to James and Nannie (Edwards) Crawley on Oct. 18, 1930. She attended Genoa High School and worked at Alfred Land jewelry store and the Union Mission and attended Union Baptist Church, where she was a member of the senior choir.

She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 40 years, Hiawatha Harding, and her son, Hiawatha (Waddy) Harding Jr., as well as her brothers, Charles, Samuel and James Crawley. She is survived by her daughters, Delores Brown and Carol Parks, both of Sumter; her sons, Joe, of Sumter, Claude and his wife, Alicia, of Columbia, S.C., and Thomas, and his wife, Cindy, of Broomfield, CO; her daughter-in-law, Sharon (Boo) Harding of Bluefield, and her sister in law, Evelyn Crawley of Tazewell, VA.

She was also blessed with several grandchildren who mourn her passing: Joel Parks of Charlotte, N.C., Deanna and her husband, Myron, Shuler of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Jordan and Anna Catherine Harding of Princeton, WV; Bryant and Tiffany Harding of Bluefield, WV; and Isaac and Everett Harding of Broomfield, CO. In addition, she is survived by one great-granddaughter, as well as a longtime friend, Evelyn Hearn.

Services were conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2008 from the G.H. Sinkford Memorial Chapel of the Richardson Funeral Home, 910 Bland St., Bluefield with the Rev. William Spencer officiating. Burial followed at the Grandview Memorial Gardens on Tazewell Road; Bluefield VA. Friends called one hour prior to services. Donations may be sent to Union Baptist Church, 208 Wilson St., Bluefield, WV 24701 or a charity of the donor's choice. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Richardson Funeral Home; Bluefield, WV.
