Doug's unconventional debut:

Birthplace? Daddy's Auto

A young Holland Patent woman gave birth to a child at 5 this morning in her husband's automobile on Genesee St. enroute to Faxton Hospital.

Patrolmen J. K. Jones and John Williams in their official report give the details: "5 a.m. We were sent to the Toddle House where it was reported a woman had given birth to a child. We found Jean Bronson, aged 19, had given birth to the child in her husband's car while he was taking her to Faxton Hospital from their home in Holland Patent. Dr. William Falvo was there. We then showed Bronson the way to Faxton and assisted the nurses in getting the mother and baby out of the car, and into the hospital where she was attended by Dr. Redmond of Barneveld. Mother and baby are doing fine."
