Parker Elemual Stratton was born March 25, 1909, near Fay to Benjamin Jefferson and Nellie Elizabeth Stratton, and died Friday, April 11, 1980, at Oklahoma City at the age of 71.

He was a resident of Oakwood and Fay for several years and moved to Putnam in 1946 where he lived until retiring from farming. As a youngster he attended Butte County School and was a member of the Putnam Methodist Church.

He married Emma Shellenberger at Oakwood in 1926, and they were parents to five children. After his wife's death, Stratton married Cecil Davis, who also preceded him in death, in 1964. He married his present wife, Iva Pierce, on February 19, 1967. Others preceding him in death included his father, a daughter, a brother, a sister, three grandchildren and a great grandchild.

Survivors include his wife, Iva; his mother, Nellie Stratton; two sons, Alfred Stratton of Pueblo, Colorado, and Nelvis Stratton of Bakersfield, California; two daughters, Ramona Ramsey of Byron and Iris Hunt of Putnam; a brother, Audrey Stratton of Pollock Pines, California; two sisters, Frances Hartman of Portland, Oregon, and Eva Tidball of Canton; 10 grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, April 14, in the Wilkinson Mortuary Chapel, Watonga, with Rev. Vernon Hanson officiating. Services were concluded at Oakwood Memorial Cemetery.
