BEAVERS, JR., JAMES "JIM" WILLIAM A retired vice president of land for the Hunt Oil Company, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2008 in Denton, Texas. Jim was born on November 26, 1925 in Gladewater, Texas to James William, Sr. et ux Rebecca (Landers) Beavers. He was a 1943 graduate of Gladewater High School. On November 3, 1951, he married Geneva Gwyn Wilson in Cameron, Texas. Jim served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He attended Kilgore Jr. College, University of Texas, and received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor University in 1949. Jim was employed by the Hunt Oil Company from February 1952 to February 1985. He served as a consultant for Box-Crow Cement from 1985 to 1987. He was trustee over the William Herbert Trust Estate from 1987 to present and was president of Jim Beavers, Inc. from 1985 to present. Jim held the office of president for several organizations including the Dallas Association of Petroleum Landmen, American Association of Petroleum Landmen, and the Texas Quarter Horse Association. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at the First Baptist Church, 708 S. Fifth Street, Sanger. Bro. Mark Irons will be officiating and assisted by Wayne Adams. Serving as pallbearers will be Ray Williams, Kim Clarke, Jim Bookout, Jimmy Campbell, Van Nichols, and Buddy Hearne. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Herbert Hunt, Mack Rankin, Roger Chapman, Tom Aderhold, Jim Parker, and Louis Pearce. Survivors include his wife, Gwyn; son, Jay Beavers and wife, Julia; sister, Mildred Beavers Bowden Jones; grandchildren, James Beavers, Travis Beavers, Chris McClendon, and Penny McClendon; two sisters-in-law, Nadine Ricks and Rita Adams; and nieces, nephews, and cousins. In 2002, Jim was preceded in death by his daughter, Beth Ann Beavers McClendon.
