Son of Darius D. and Ephemia (Dart) Northrop. Husband of Elizabeth "Lizzie" (Strandberg) Northrop and father of Pearl, Alvah, and Cora Northrop. Brother of Theron D., Clara, Cora M. and Mary Northrop. Born in Genessee Co, New York, moved to Michigan in late 1860 then to Taycheedah, Fond du Lac Co, Wisconsin in the mid 1860's. Family moved to Powhatan Township, Pocahontas Co, Iowa about 1881.
