:Clair Amos Yantzi, 68 of Tavistock, passed away at Victoria Hospital South Street Campus, on Saturday, November 16, 2002. He was born in East Zorra Township, a son of the late Aaron S. Yantzi and the former Fannie Mae Baechler. Clair was a member of East Zorra Mennonite Church, 16th Line; was a member and Past President of Tavistock Men's Club; had been a regular volunteer at the Tavistock Arena Booth. Clair had managed meat departments at several grocery stores, the most recent being St. Clements Food Market and Pyms Market in Wellesley. Clair was well known for his summer sausage and drying sausage that he had been making for 40 years. He had a great love for his family and particularly his grandchildren and enjoyed supporting them in their activities. He was the beloved husband of the former Mary Jane Roth, whom he married in East Zorra Township on August 30, 1958; dear father of Myron and wife Kelly Yantzi of River John, N.S.; Mary Lou and husband Sam Gingerich of Baden, Brenda and husband Phil Bowman of Tavistock, Bonnie and husband Greg West of Woodstock, Grace and friend Warren Bruce of Breslau; dear grandfather of Brad and Sarah Yantzi, Brandon and Ben Gingerich, Corey, Curtis and Catrina Bowman, Dylan and Addison West, Zachary Acorn; brother of Glenn and wife Debbie Yantzi of St. George, Loraine and husband Howard Bender of Tavistock, Katie Ann and husband The Rev. Clare Schumm of Goshen, Indiana; brother-in-law of Leander Wagler of Tavistock, Mae Ann and Verle Bender of New Hamburg, Ken and Belinda Roth of Stratford, Ron and Carol Roth of New Hamburg, Paul and Glenna Roth of Tavistock; uncle of several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Beatrice Wagler. Relatives and friends were received in the Francis Funeral Home, 77 Woodstock St. N., Tavistock on Tuesday from 2-4-and 7-9 p.m.
