Madison/Avoca Robert J. McGill age 84 of Madison, formerly of Avoca died on Tuesday, March 16, 1999 at his home in Madison. He was born in Pulaski Township, Iowa County, near Avoca on March 8, 1915, the son of the late William and Mary A (McNulty) McGill. He was a US Merchant Marine, having served during World War II. Robert was united in marriage ot Marjorie Trentzsch on January 14, 1936 in Highland. The couple farmed in the Avoca area. Robert later employed in the independent trucking business and by the Department of Agriculture, retiring in 1980. The couple lived in Tucson, Arizona for about 16 years before returning to Wisconsin. He was a member of the St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Madison and the VFW in Tucson, ARizona. Robert enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie of Madison, nine children, Beverly (Gordon) Jenkins of Belleville, Patrick (Carla) of Madison, Maureen (Thomas) Breunig of Sauk City, Michael (Audrey) of Madison, Dan (Melodee) of Waunakee, Dennis of Madison, Kevin (Sue) of Madison, Brian (Ann) of Mazomanie, and Terry of Rochester, Minnesota; a daughter-in-law, Kathleen McGill of Cross Plains, a sister, Dorothy Schwartz of Madison, 15 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. In addition to his partents, he was preceded in death by a son, William; a daughter Judy; and three sisters. A mass of Christina Burial will be hled at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Avoca, at 11:00 am on Friday March 19,
