From the Hutchinson newspaper;

"Howard W. Dowell, 89, of Hutchinson, died May 3, 2000, at Mennonite Friendship Manor, South Hutchinson.
He was born July 30, 1910 at Spring Hill, Mo., the son of Arvin Alexander and Ida Isabell Brasfield Dowell. A long time Hutchinson resident, moving from Spring Hill, Mo., he was a salesman for Nash-Finch, retiring from the former Cox Produce of Wichita.
He belonged to Northminister Presbyterian Church and was a charter member of the Central Pigeon Tumbler Club.
On Aug. 19, 1932, he married Henrietta L. Cook at Ottawa. She survives.
Other survivors include: a daughter, Margaret Mathis, Wichita; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Arvin and Gline; two infant sisters; and two sisters, Mary Lena Dowell and Anna Cecil Terry.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Fairlawn Mausoleum, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Skip Johnson presiding. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. today at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Mennonite Friendship Manor, in care of the mortuary."

Note that there is one item from the above obituary that is incorrect. Howard Dowell's father was Arvin C. Dowell. Arvin A. Dowell (1907-1955) was Howard's brother who is also buried here at Fairlawn Cemetery.
