I was only seven when my Uncle Frank N Fulton was killed in a military plane crash but I remember him being the handsome GI who met, fell in love, married my beautiful auntie Rhoda Robertson, from the Isle of Skye in Scotland. He was stationed with the USAF in England.
In August 1954 they flew to the USA to start a new life together, full of anticipation and dreams of a great life together.
Sadly less than two months later he died when his plane crashed on take off at Pope Airforce Base, North Carolina.
He was buried near his family home of Lynn, Massachusetts, USA.
