He was born Dec. 29, 1916, in Congerville, son of John and Lena Engle Schieber. He married Fannie M. Zimmerman on Jan. 30, 1949, in Congerville. She died July 19, 1994.
Surviving are two sisters, Esther Troike and Emma Schieber, both of Eureka; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Beverly Schieber; and three brothers.
An Army veteran, Harvey served his country in the Pacific Theater during World War II.
A milkman early in life, Harvey delivered milk on his route in Congerville. Later, he worked for Unit 140 as a custodian and bus driver before he retired in 1982. He was a member of the Congerville Apostolic Christian Church.
A devoted father figure and family man, he took an interest in all his nieces and nephews and loved every one of them.
