He was born Nov. 10, 1919, in Greenfield, to the late Marshall and Lena Lacy Heck, and graduated from Greenfield High School.
He married Mary Ruth Trees on May 15, 1943, in Shelbyville. She preceded him in death Dec. 17, 2003.
Mr. Heck worked at Eli Lilly as a department head for 37 years, retiring in 1981.
He had been a Master Mason for more than 50 years and was a member of Shelbyville Masonic Lodge 28 and Scottish Rite in Indianapolis and a life member of Elks Lodge 143. He enjoyed golfing.
Surviving is his daughter, Peggy Barton (husband: Robert) of Lafayette.
He loved being with his 2 grandchildren, Brett Barton (wife: Grace) and Robin Spitznagle, and 4 great-grandchildren, Carly and Cody Spitznagle, Angie Agredano and Alayna Barton. Preceded in death by his wife, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters.
