A.M. Minister of the Gospel. He was born Aug. 8, 1797, and was liberally educated by his Parents, the late Peter and Elizabeth Ludlow of this city. Having become pius he solemnly dedicated himself to the work of the Christian Ministry and in 1823 was ordained Pastor of the 2nd Baptist Church in Providence, R.I. He was married to a daughter of the late Rev'd Dr. Gano of that city. His health failing he sought a more congenial climate, and removing to South Carolina he was installed Pastor of the Baptist Church in Georgetown. Disease soon compelled him to relinquish his parochial duties and for the last several years of his life he but rarely engaged in them. He died at the house of his youngest brother in this City May 6th 1837 in the 40th year of his age and the 11th of his Ministry. His talents were of a high order. In research he was untiring, critical, and thorough. In Christian doctrine evangelical, perspicuous, and unswerving. In the pulpit eloquent, grave and impressive.
As his spirit was departing these words were recited to cheer him n his flight; "Father I will that they also who thou, has given me, be with me where I am that they may behold my glory which thou has given me." John xvii: 24
