Lee Osban Bland, age 87, of Winnfield, La., passed away, Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at Winn Parish Medical Center.

Graveside services were held at 10:00 a.m. at the Garden of Memories Cemetery with Reverend Willis Russell officiating.

Mr. Bland was a member of the Hurricane Creek Baptist Church and a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II having served in the Phillipines with the 96th Infantry. He was Purple Heaert and Bronze Star recipient.

He was the son of the late Jesse Bland and the late Flora Frances Russell Bland. Mr. Bland was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years Sylvia (Gilcrease) Bland; three Daughters: Pat Howell of Shreveport, La., Donna Bland of Winnfield, La., Becky Jeffress and husband Chuck of Pineville, La.; five grandchildren: Larry Howell and his wife Carla of Natchitoches, Chris Cotton of Houston, Tx., Ashley Dupuy and her husband Jude of Marksville, Charles Jeffress and his wife Stacy of Livingston, and Loren Jeffress and his wife Cari of Denham Springs; great grandchildren: Dustyn Howell and Lindlay Howell both of Winnfield, Cody Howell of Natchitoches, Lily Anne Jeffress of Livingston, Alexcia Jeffress and Jansen Jeffress both of Denham Springs. Mr. Bland is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers were: Larry Howell, Dustyn Howell, Cody Howell, Chuck Jeffress, Jude Dupuy, Glenn Gilcrease, and Chris Cotton.
