He was born January 3, 1912 in Farnum, Nebraska to Frank and Elma (Delate) Waits. He grew up in Farnum and graduated from Farnum High School in 1931. Married Faye B. Hudson on July 20, 1935 at Farnum. He farmed there several years, moving to Western Nebraska and Eastern Wyoming areas. They moved to Gering, NE in 1941. He was a line forman for the Bureau of Reclamation for 32 years and retired in 1974. He was a member and past president of the Gering Volunteer Fire Department, the Nebraska State Volunteer Fire Fighters Association, Eagles Lodge No. 2998, past member of the Moose Lodge, and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, and wife.
