Mrs. Emma Miller Dies in Salem
Emma Louise Miller, 87, died Wednesday afternoon, May 18, in a Salem Hospital where she had been for the last few days. Mrs. Miller was born in Minnesota on July 10, 1878. She was the daughter of August and Ernestine Rahn, and moved with her parents when a young girl to the Scio area where she lived the rest of her life until moving to Salem.
She was married in Albany and Dec. 2, 1903 to William W. Miller, also of Scio, who preceded her in death Oct. 17, 1957. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Dec. 2, 1953.
She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Lizzy Cyrus of Rt. 2, Albany; four nieces, Mrs. Reta Musgrave, Salem, Mrs. Eileen Lawson, Seattle, Mrs. Wenonah Wiley, Lebanon, and Mrs. Roberta Thomas, Albany; two nephews, Darrell R. Cyrus and Max W. Cyrus, both of Albany; and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 23rd at 2:30 pm at the Scio Baptist Church with Rev. Lester Johnson pastor, conducting the services. The organist was Gloria Thurston, and soloist Glenda Elliott. Bearers will be Walter Miller, Ken Purdy, Leslie Thayer, Oliver Beard, Cecil Bates, and Carl Limbeck. Burial will be in Franklin Butte Cemetery. Huston Funeral Home , Lebanon, is in charge of arrangements.
