Juanita B. Knauff a long time resident and owner of Knauff Funeral Homes in Williston and Chiefland, FL passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021.
Born in Wheeler County, Georgia she came to Williston, FL in 1960 from Crystal River, FL. The Knauff Funeral Home was established by her late husband Joseph F. Knauff in 1949, he predeceased Mrs. Knauff in 1998. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Williston, but had attended the Church of God where her husband Gordon was an active member. Mrs. Knauff was a 2 term past president of the Williston Women's Club and during her second term as president, home mail delivery for Williston residents was a project and this became a reality which we enjoy today. She was past president of the Levy County Chapter of American Cancer Society, serving as memorial chairman for 12 years, chairman of the annual Cancer Society Golf Tournament for 5 years. She was a member of the Williston Art League, American Legion Auxiliary, Williston Hospital Pink Ladies, former member of the Levy Count Democratic Executive Committee, chapter member of the Williston Highlands Golf and Country Club, member of the Williston Chamber of Commerce and member of the Independent Funeral Directors Association. Her hobbies were serving families, oil painting, playing bridge, but top priority was family.
Mrs. Knauff is survived by her husband Gordon Banning, son Joseph F. Knauff Jr., step-son, Chuck Banning (Penny), step-daughter Kathy Banning, sister, Grace Vickery (Kenneth), brother Clinton Blankenship, 6 grandchildren, Allen, Kelly, Gage, Reyce, Isabella and J.R. and 4 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her son Charles Strickland in 1986.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 27th, 2021 at the Williston Church of God. Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM with Rev. Ken Vickery and Rev. Wes Smith officiating. Interment will follow the service at the Orange Hill Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the care of the Knauff Funeral Homes, Williston/Chiefland (352)528-3481/493-4777.
