Mildred Lynore Bailey Hacking, age 95, passed away May 7, 2005 in the Uintah Care Center.

She was born on April 17, 1910 in Salt Lake City. She was the last of 12 children including seven sisters and four brothers born to George Smith and Victoria Price Bailey. She married Grant L. Hacking on December 23, 1935 in the Salt Lake Temple by Heber J. Grant.

She was a teacher from 1929-1936, after graduating from the University of Utah. She was very active in the LDS Church, serving in many positions. Grant and Mildred served in the Washington D.C. and Whiterocks Indian Mission, along with helping many grandchildren serve missions also. She loved to crochet and knit and enjoyed gardening and entertaining for family and friends. For 69 years she helped Grant with farming and ranching and taught her children the joy of hard work.

Education and learning was her joy. She lived to see all her children and many of her grandchilden graduate from college. One of the highlights of her life was showing her children the world. She and Grant took their children and their spouses on wonderful trips to Mexico, Israel and Hawaii.

Mildred is survived by her husband, Grand Hacking; her children, Eleanore (Lynton) Scott, Trinity Center, California; Brent (Roberta) Hacking, Langley, Washington; Douglas (Adee) Hacking, Layton; Marilyn (Bill) Beesley, Draper and Barbara (Berkley) Hall Of Vernal.

She and Grant have 27 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. Mildred is preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Ely , a daughter-in-law, Cherry, two grandchildren, her parents and siblings.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 14 at 2 p.m. at the Maeser/Ashley Chapel, 2575 North 1500 West. Friends and family may call on Friday, May 13, from 7-9 p.m. at Thompson-Blackburn Vernal Mortuary and one hour prior to services at the chapel.

Burial will be held in the Maeser-Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Thomson-Blackburn Vernal
