Liberty - There will be a Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Maron Church, 1555 S. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, with Chorbishop Michael Kail and Chorbishop Anthony Spinosa officiating for Frances C. "Franny" (Azara) Farris, 76, of Liberty, who passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, April 11, 2017, with her loving family by her side.

 

Franny will always be remembered and loved for her smile and ability to light up a room with her laugh. She always had so much energy and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

She was born May 3, 1940 in Youngstown, the daughter of Charles and Rose (Adams) Azara and was a lifelong area resident.

Frances was a 1958 graduate of North High School and was a member of St. Maron Church.

She was employed at Fashion Bug and Children's Place as a retail manager. She was also a proud homemaker and excellent cook. Her family will miss her famous spaghetti sauce along with all the other wonderful dishes that she would prepare. Franny always put her family first and that especially was true when she became a caregiver for her beloved son Dominic for over 6 years who passed away February 19, 2014.

Franny leaves behind to hold onto her precious memories her beloved husband of over 51 years George J. Farris whom she married at St. Maron Church, two daughters Michele Farris of Austintown and Joy (Michael) Coman of Youngstown, six grandchildren Jacob, Ryan and Olivia Coman, Jacci and Danny Sebastian and John Burk, two great grandchildren Bentley and Mason Burk and her beloved sister Marlene (Joe) Macri of New Castle along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

Frances was preceded in death by her father Charles (Lee) Azara and mother Rose (Albert) Ranno, her beloved son Dominic Anthony Sebastian and two brothers Charles "Chaz" Azara and Philip Azara.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday, April 17, 2017 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., Youngstown, (new location) where the Prayers of Incense Prayer Service will take place at 6:30 pm., friends and family may also pay respects on Tuesday morning, April 18, 2017 from 9:00 am until 9:45 am at St. Maron Church, 1555 S. Meridian Rd., Youngstown.

Franny's family would like to give thanks and appreciation to the entire staff of St. Elizabeth Medical Center and especially the nursing staff of the 6th Floor for all their compassion and loving care shown to them throughout this difficult time.
