ASSARIA ~ George W. Gantt, 62, Assaria, died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 1997, at his home.
Mr. Gantt was born Aug. 18, 1935, at Minden, LA, and was a resident of Salina, McPherson and Oakley before moving to Assaria. He worked for Markle Construction Co., building grain elevators; was superintendent of construction at local missile sites; was part owner and manager of Stress Cast, Assaria; and manager of Buildex, Marquette.
Survivors include: his wife, Mary E. of the home; two sons, Bill of McPherson and George L. of Salina; two daughters, Joyce D. Chrislip of McPherson and Connie Ballou of Assaria; a sister, Peggy Patton of Farmersville, LA; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The service will be at 11:30 a.m. today, Sept. 19, in Assaria Lutheran Cemetery, the Rev. William Buschbom officiating.
