George H Conklin died suddenly at his home on East Main street, late Monday afternoon from a heart attack, while spading in his garden. He was seen by a neighbor where he had fallen upon the ground. Mr Conklin had been in ill health for some time, but just prior to his death he had been feeling much better, Sunday afternoon he went to Huntington to call on relatives and in the evening attended church service. He recently opened a small store which he attended Monday, returning home in the afternoon. He ate his supper, after which he went out in his garden to work. A few minutes later, Isaac [Hall?], next door neighbor, saw him upon the ground where he had fallen dead. Mr Conklin was 60 years of age and was born in Northport, residing here with the exception of a few years spent at Roslyn.
