Helen (Gross) Rood Sheatler, 79, of Stillwater, died Saturday, March 2, 2024 at the Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital.
Born September 18, 1944 in Immokalee, Florida, she was a daughter of Lewis and Nellie (Drawdy) Gross. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, H. Ray Rood on June 3, 2012 and Charles L. Sheatler on February 11, 1993.
Helen had worked as a caregiver for many years. She had also worked for the former Ames Department Store and May's Family Restaurant in Berwick, as well as The Children's Country Cottage in Rupert.
She was a member of Stillwater Christian Church.
Helen enjoyed spending time with her family and her hobbies included feeding the birds, flowers, watching old Westerns on TV and Search-A-Word puzzles.
Surviving are her four children: Tammy L. Kindig and her husband, Terry, of Orangeville; Tracey Breisch, of Tempe, Arizona; Theron "Butch" Rood and his wife, Amanda, of Benton; Gwendolyn Rood, of Stillwater; eleven grandchildren: Theron W. Rood, Hannah Robinson and husband, Eric; Linda Foreman and her husband, Michael; Alexis Fisher and husband, Jason; Rick Hudson; Britton Breisch; Emily Kerschner and husband, Timothy; Cameron Rood; Brandon Breisch, Anneke Rood and Lane Kindig; and eleven great grandchildren.
Along with her parents and two husbands, she was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister: David, L. B., and Clarence "Bud" Gross and Juanita Harris.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 8, 2024 at 11 AM at the Stillwater Christian Church, 39 McMichael Street, Stillwater, with Pastor Scott Lyons, officiating. Burial will be in the Millville Cemetery. A Viewing will be held Friday from 10 AM until the time of the service at the Church.
