PHOENIX, Arizona—Services for Doris E. Ramos, 70, of Phoenix, AZ., will be at 1:00p.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2023. Visitation will be held from 10:00a.m.-12:00p.m. on January 12, 2023. Burial will immediately follow the memorial service. All services will be held at Resthaven/ Carr-Tenney Mortuary & Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Ramos died Friday, December 30, 2022 at her home, surrounded by her loved ones, following a brave battle with cancer.
She had a successful sales career in the optical retail business, for over 30 years. She was awarded Salesperson of the Year in 2006. She retired from LensCrafters in 2010.
Doris Brown was born on December 8, 1952 to John and Lona (Copeland) Brown in Cookeville, TN. She married Gary Powell in 1973, in Rock Island, IL. She married Phanor Ramos on December 8,1989 in Rock Island, IL. In 2006, she and Phanor moved to Phoenix, AZ so they could be closer to family. Doris adored her grandchildren and spent as much time with them as she could.
She was also an avid animal lover, and enjoyed spending time with her three small dogs. After her retirement, Doris enjoyed purchasing real estate, gardening/ landscaping with her husband, and spending time with friends and family. Doris never met a stranger; she welcomed people into her home and was generally the life of the party!

Survivors include her husband; son and daughter-in-law, Brian Powell and Melissa Killeen, East Peoria, IL; a step-son, Danilo Ramos, Mesa, Arizona; and a step-daughter, Adriana (Emile) Manansala, Gilbert, Arizona; four grandchildren; sisters Corinne (Harold) Albertson, Canton, IL and Lois (Charles) Dial, Cookeville, TN; and one brother, Edward "Leo" (Brenda) Brown, Carthage,TN.
