Elnora A. Niedfelt, 63, of Rt. 6 Grand Island died Wednesday at a local care home. Services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church. The Rev. Russell Mueller will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4-8 p.m. at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the church or the American Diabetes Foundation.
Mrs. Niedfelt was born April 1, 1919, at Grand Island, the daughter of Hugo and Frieda Heesch Pieper. She grew up on a farm southwest of Grand Island and attended rural schools. She married Walter Niedfelt on Aug. 31, 1938, at Grand Island. They farmed east of Grand Island. Mrs. Niedfelt was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Walter Jr. and Donald, both of Grand Island; six grandchildren and four brothers, LeRoy Pieper of Newport, Va., Delbert of Whittier, Calif., Edward of Grand Island and Leonard of Cheyenne, Wyo.
