FRED C. MENCEL CALLED BY DEATH
The remains of Fred C. Mencel, who died in a Seattle hospital on Thursday morning, December 21st, was laid to rest in the Pleasant Ridge cemetery Saturday afternoon.
The funeral service was held in Light's Undertaking Parlors at 1:30 Rev. Baldwin of the M. E. Church officiated using for his text the words found Job 14:14, "If a man die shall he live again?" The pall bearers were Carl Johnson, Arthur Johnson, Fredolph Jungquist, Oscar Larm, Leonard Allquist and Leonard Wolf.
The deceased was 23 years, 3 months and 24 days old. He was an enterprising, ambitious young man, unusually esteemed by those who knew him best. With life and health, his propects were fair and promising for success, for whatever duty lay before him he always did his best. But it has pleased God, for his own wise purpose, to take him away in his youth.
The remains were laid to rest beside those of his mother who passed away nearly fourteen years ago. He leaves to mourn his death his father, Carl Mencel, two sisters, Mrs. Anna Fergueson, with whom he had made his home for the past year, and Mrs. Martha Pompella, both of Seattle, also a large circle of warm friends who feel that their loss is his gain. The sorrowing ones have the sympathy of the entire community.
