Thomas Marion Chambers, age 87, died Friday morning, October 25, 1946 at 8:00 AM at the home of his daughter, Mrs. A. J. Roper, in the Golden Grove Community where he had lived for the past 30 years. He was a native of Union County, Georgia, a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Tennessee and his wife, the late Mrs. Melvena Orr Chambers who died in 1901. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. A. J. Roper, Mrs. A.R. Rose, Mrs. Heddy Bright and Mrs. Will Orr; one son, J. B. Chambers; 30 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Sunday afternoon, October 26, 1946 at 3:30 PM at the home of Mrs. A. J. Roper conducted by the Reverend Rivers. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The body is at the home of his daughter, Mrs. A. J. Roper.
