Dorothy Deen Smith Bemo 88, of Muskogee, died Thursday, May 1, 2008 at Muskogee Regional Medical Center. She was born November 17, 1919 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to John W. Smith and Rose Stanford. Dorothy completed high school and was a lady of many talents. Her life was molded around her family and her church. She loved gardening, china painting and made so many wonderful friends to share in the love of painting for hours. She also worked many years for Sears in the accounting department. Her homemaker duties was a priority for her.She was preceded in death by her parents, and three husbands, one son and one sister. She is survived by two sons: John Applewhite and Charles Ray Applewhite, both of Dallas, Texas, stepdaughter, Carol Boren of Denton, Texas; three stepsons, Donald Myers of Anchorage, Alaska, Ronald Myers of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas and Alan Bemo of Joplin, Missouri; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren; special friends, Cleo and Eunice Guthrie and her wonderful church family.Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 5, 2008 at Muskogee Church of Christ with Mr. Kevin Stewart officiating. Interment will follow in Greenhill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charlie Cook, Gary Cline, Hoyt Payne, Bobby Yandell, Gaither Vanderveer and Ellis Aldridge.
