Clark was born in New Orleans, and came to Dallas, Texas as a salesman for motor cars while a young man. He met his future wife, Miss Norma Moody from Fort Worth, Texas and they were married in Dallas, Texas but soon moved to Ft. Worth, Texas where her family lived. He was involved in sales work in Ft. Worth. In about 1920, they moved to New Orleans for about three years, then relocated to San Antonio Texas in 1923 where he was an insurance agent for the Southland Insurance Company. He died of a heart attack in 1929. He is buried in San Antonio. He and his wife had two sons who completed careers in the US Navy as officers and lived in California after retirment as did their mother, Norma. She moved to California in 1936 or so. Norma Besancon is buried in Westminster, California with her half sister. She never remarried.
Obituary from the San Antonio Newspaper dated Thursday, September 26, 1929: "Clark W. Besancon beloved husband of Mrs. Norma Besancon died at his home 1024 Kings Way in his 55th year. Surviving him are his widow, and two sons, Victor C. and Moody, all of San Antonio. Funeral services will be held Friday at 4 O'Clock from Porter Loring Mortuary, Services will be under auspices of the Christian Science Church."
