Oscar "Al" Gann, 76, a native of Gorman, Texas, and resident of Jennings, died at 11:05 a.m. Saturday, April 1, 2000.
Visitation will be from 2:30 to 10 p.m. today at Miguez Funeral Home in Jennings, and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Jennings, with burial in Garden of Angels Calvary Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife, Emily Waguespack Gann of Jennings; three sons, Michael A. Gann of Grand Prairie, Texas, Patrick C. Gann of Richfield, N.C., and Terry C. Gann of Houston, Texas; one daughter, Darcy Leah Gann of Prairieville; one brother, Corbett O. Gann of Amarillo, Texas; four sisters, Rubye Gaede of Andrews, Texas, Opal Jefferson of Denver City, Texas, Ada Murrell Proctor of Hurst, Texas, and Tommie Sue Coleman of Littleton, Colo.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was a retired district superintendent for Gulf State Utilities, a U.S. Army World War II veteran and a parishioner of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church.

Funeral services for Oscar "Al" Gann, 76, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2000 in Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church with Msgr. James Gaddy officiating.
Burial will be in The Garden of Angels in the Calvary Cemetary under the direction of Miguez Funeral home.
Visitation will be from 2:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. today, and from 8 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the services.
Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel.
Mr. Gann died at 11:05 a.m. Saturday, April 1, 2000, in the Jennings Hospital. A native of Gorman, Texas. He was a 55- year resident of Jennings, moving here from Albany, Texas. He served in the Army during World War 2 and attended MacMurray Collage in Abilene, Texas. He was a retired district superintendent with Gulf States Utilities and a member and past president of the Greater Jennings Chamber of Commerce. He was also a member of the Rotary Club and the Ukulele Group. He was past president of OLI School Board and a member of Our Lady of Help of Christians Catholic Church, were he served as lay minister, minister of Communion, was on the parish council and served as a trustee.
