Betty Doris Patterson, 88, passed away in Dallas, Texas, on Sunday, December 17, 2023.


Betty was born in Ensign, Texas on September 2, 1935, to Alma and Lloyd Patterson. She grew up in Ennis, Texas. Betty graduated from Ennis High School in 1953 as the class Salutatorian. She went on to business school and then took a position at Lon Star Gas Company, where she worked for over 40 years, before retiring as a manager. She was involved in her community, and was a member of Ennis Professional Woman's Club, as well as serving as President.


She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Ennis, Texas, where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir, often performing duets and solos.


Betty's favorite hobby, her passion, was travel. She visited all 50 states and several European countries during her lifetime. She was also a tour guide for Traveling Texans Bus Tours for many years.

Family was a huge priority in Betty's life, and through the years, she helped out many family members, and took care of her mother, Alma, for her entire life.


Betty is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Billy Bob Patterson.


Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at 2 p.m. in Myrtle Cemetery of Ennis, where family member, Ray Larson, will preside over the service under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
