Cleve Shepard was born at Thayer, MO on Dec. 12, 1884 and departed this life at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Valeria Trimble, of Thayer on April 27, 1963 at the age of 78 yrs. four months and 15 days. He was the son of G.A. and Ellen Nail Shepard.
He was united in marriage to Mary Ann McCameron in Oregon Co., MO on Sept 8, 1908. To this union seven children were born. His wife Mary Ann, preceded him in death in 1932.
He was united in a second marriage to Ida Brown in Oregon Co., MO in Jan 1936. She preceded him in death in 1955.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Valeria Trimble of Thayer, Mo.; Mrs. Leoria (s/b Leora) Jarman of Fish Creek, Wis.; Mrs. Melba Peace of Long Beach, Calif.; two sons, Adron Shepard of Thayer, Mo.; Ralph Shepard of Grand Junction, Colo.; and two brothers, Lee Shepard of Thayer, Mo.; John Shepard of Joplin, Mo.; 18 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
One daughter and one son, two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held May 1, 1963 at the Carter Chapel with Sister Belle Mitchell officiating. Burial was in the Shiloh Cemetery under the direction of the Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.
Pallbearers for the service were Rufus Atkinson, Murriel Vincent, Robert Worel, Roy Childers, Bill Pressley, and Virgil Paulette.
